Penang Trip

my long awaited holiday is over... *sniff*... Penang is getting more & more crowded... the weather is worse than kl... honestly it was hot... :p not much of shopping 2 do or places 2 go cause of the weather... with the weather like that, if we go 2 the beach the result would be a bad sunburn... i can't risk it.. hehehe...

FEB 1 (WED)
this was the earliest i have ever pushed off from my house 2 travel... 4.15am *yawn*... by the time it was 6.45am, we were aledi near taiping or passing taiping (not sure, 2 early, still blur :p)... we crossed 2 Penang by ferry... it has been so long since i had been on the ferry.. the feeling was great..

upon reaching, we immediately went 2 eat loh mee beside the Goddess of Mercy temple.. it wasn't as nice as last time... 2 salty... maybe because i didn't add their chilli sauce... hehehe... then we went to check in at YMCA... we nearly didn't have rooms 2 stay in cause of a certain misunderstanding... but in the end all was well... hehehe.. the rooms were cleaner than i expected... in fact it was good...

we went 2 visit my grandfather's and grandmother's tablet since it wasn't time to check in yet... after that we went to Gurney Plaza... the things and clothes sold there were quite different from kl.. even the stuff they are selling for valentines day... most of it were really cute... but i couldn't find anything suitable to buy there... haih... what a waste..

after Gurney Plaza we went for lunch.. some famous mamak... well, the price was rather expensive as usual since it was CNY... my dad asked me 2 drive back to YMCA... outside i said ok, if u would show me the way but inside, WHAT??... hehehe.. i have not really driven his car before (Proton Saga Iswara)... way 2 big... i can't c too far in front... neway i took the challenge... yup i made it to YMCA in 1 piece...

after an afternoon snooze, we went 2 air hitam for some assam laksa and sugarcane juice... oh how i miss that... we had to 'fight' 4 places to sit... we got a place right next to the fella making the laksa.. hehehe... so i watched him.. boy, he works really fast... his pots of soup looked like something from the bottom of the sea being dug up decades later... we wanted to go up to kek lok si but looking at the way going up, we decided to get some supper and return to YMCA instead...

FEB 2 (THURS)
i met up with Michael, who was also in Penang visiting his auntie... we went out at around 9 to eat his favourite curry noodles (in jalan seratus tahun)... after that we headed to kek lok si since it was too early to go to Gurney Plaza...

the Goddess of Mercy statue is huge and they are building some kind of shade for it... we walked around for a while and took some photos and decided to adjourn to Gurney Plaza. (2 hot and full of ppl praying inside the temples or shrines - i m not sure what is it called, if i m wrong please correct me)

at Gurney Plaza, my dear had hard time deciding between My Kungfu Sweetheart, Keeping Mum and Fearless... although the queue line was long, it took him the whole time we were lining up 2 decide... we ended up watching My Kungfu Sweetheart... it was worth watching as the jokes are still quite fresh... we had dinner with my parents and then went to c his auntie... i got back to YMCA at past 10...

FEB 3 (FRI)
my mom got me up at 6.00 a.m for the journey back to kl.. we stopped by ipoh for breakfast.. some famous place (i m not sure of the name)... its famous for the kai si hor fun n a lady walks around selling mua chi (4 those who dun understand, its koay teow soup with sliced steam chicken)... then we made our way back to kl..

at one of the rest areas, my dad asked me to drive... some where near tapah i think.. big achivement 4 me... 1st time driving on the highway... i have driven back from damansara lar, but this is so much different... anyway, thank God i made it back in 1 piece... hehehe...

enjoyable yet tiring, it was a great trip...
