Kids Camp

it has been quite some time since i last posted something here. hehehe. s usual laziness got to me and there has nothing to post here since i m on holiday. now this is something that happened on the 2nd of june 2006.

my mum organized a kids camp for the kids of her centre. the attendance list was jin yee, peak yee, chloe, zi lin, chin chin, amanda, yuet yuet, glenn, jia juin, Michael, and of course me. all those attending couldn't wait for the camp to start. even on thursday itself they were already bursting with excitement.

the camp started off with a barbeque at 7 in the evening. the kids impatience level was already at its peak by the way they keep on asking us to hurry up and get the fire started. it took us quite some time to get the fire started. Michael brought some fire starters for us so it made lighting up easier. it was around 750 when the fire was finally started. there was a loud "YEAH" from the kids. haih.

then they started taking the chicken wings from the table and putting it on the fire, without butter or honey or oil. then my mom started going 'put that 1st before putting it on the fire'. a big rush to c who was first in line to put these on the chicken n back to the pit. *big sweat*
our barbeque was not big. the chicken wings overloaded n it was crowded around the pit. big mess there. later complaints arrived that the wings was not cooked. we had to redo the wings. haih.

after the barbeque there was jelly and watermelon. there was another rush for these. haih. kids will be kids. those who has had enough started playing with the flash light n scaring their friends. then everyone helped to clean up and i put out the fire. there was a small round of throwing water at jin yee, peak yee and chloe. hehehe.

the kids r so full of energy. they can nvr settle down. the kids started their own games in a small tent. then came 'hide and seek in the dark'. jia juin was afraid of the dark and made all the kids laugh at him. even amanda the youngest is daring enough to go into the pitch black kitchen to hide. jia juin stood outside the kitchen not daring enough to inside. hahaha. it took them nearly an hour to be satisfied with the game. then there was a round of ice cream.

after shower, jin yee, chloe put on a show for us. boy, it was messy. can say the worst performance ever but everyone had a good laugh. they were so unorganized so everything went wrong. hahahaha.

later on chloe wanted to tell us some ghost stories with out the lights. but the time was already past 12 and she wanted to read from the book. Michael, me and my mom found it boring and decided to go to sleep. soon the other kids also lost interest and followed us upstairs to sleep. the girls slept in the master room with the aircon. kikiki. the boys room was rather hot cause it faced the setting sun. in the end they decided to sleep downstairs.

jia juin had on a pajamas that was full of spiderman's pictures and a spiderman bolster too! glenn had a square elephant in front of his. he is rather fat and his pajamas was... oh i dunno how to describe. just imagine a jelly tightly wrapped in a cloth.

we barely slept that night. peak yee was sleeping near my head and when she turned her knee would kick my head. there was not enough place to stretch my legs also. Michael and jia juin didn't sleep much also. jia juin cause he was scared, Michael cause he had cough. i m guessing glenn had a good sleep cause he was found in a superman position in the morning and another report i heard was glenn and jia juin slept like gays. hahaha. wish i had seen it.

morning breakfast consists of an outing to a mamak shop in taipan. everyone had roti canai and teh tarik. then it was back to the centre for cleanup and the last round of games.

Michael and i left the centre at around 9. we went to midvalley to get a new house for sugar. i brought her to the centre in the afternoon. by nightfall, she had destroyed her plastic house. we were so shocked at her behaviour. she is not usually this naughty. she bit the house from the top all the way to the bottom. we took it that sugar was provoked by the kids. it was confirmed when jin yee told that some of the younger kids were putting their fingers into the cage and poking her. guess that she got irritated and couldn't retaliate. she took it out on her house. besides all these she has also been bitting the metal bars of the cage until most of the paint has come off. this resulted to blood on the side of her mouth and nose. and the cage was also getting too small for sugar. so we decided to get her a crittertrail.

from there we went to church. after church we went back to Michael's house and i came back at around 8.30pm.

what a weekend this was. at least sunday is peaceful. hahaha
